No work, no food

Matthew 7:7-8
7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Without work then we will not get any results. Work is an obligation of us to glorify God's name. By working then it proves that the power and the love of God working in our lives.

Sometimes we see people who have a spiritual growth stagnated. Already many years to be Christians but have never experienced any miracles or breakthroughs life. Looks like he did not experience an encounter with Jesus. Why? in fact : Jesus is within us is great God, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who helps us so perfect, the bible we hold is a bible scripture with perfect knowledge.

one reason is because we do not work spiritually. If working in a physical body will produce food for body as well as spiritually, if we work will result in spiritual food. often we just pray it without trying. often we do ministry because of an obligation not because of God's purpose. too often we do not have the motivation and clear objectives when we become a Christian.

These things hinder our spiritual growth. we do not respond to the call of God which means we do not work for the Lord. So eventually our spiritually become stunted because we do not receive the spiritual food.

God has given us convenience in working. God commands us to 'ask', 'find', and 'knocked on His door'. All the orders it is a verb should be noted. God does not ask us to dwell alone. because faith without works is useless. the act which is God's work we must do to get food and water of life available to us.

Today, let's work spiritually as well as physically. because it will bring us to live victoriously. God bless you

Matthew 7:7-8 is one of my favorite verses. So many people become lazy in their spiritual growth. It does take work. Well said.

wow just last night before I went to bed I read the verses you have in this post. Isnt it good to know that we serve a great big wonderful God? The song writer says that we are to "Trust and obey there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey" He gives us clear instructions on how to live. We can all be propersous if we only allow him to have his way in our lives.

You are so right in your words. The Bible tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, that takes work. It says to stir up the faith within, that takes work, it says be alert, endure, resist, all that takes work. A growing healthy Christian cannot be lazy. Thanks for the words of wisdom, God bless.

In my opinion spiritual growth doesn't take "work." Instead we should be resting in the finished work of Christ, relying on Him through each moment. Our problem is that we try to take things into our own hands, instead of just simply trusting God. I submit that we should be working less, not more. I submit that we should be learning to rest in what Christ has already done for us. The more we become aquanted with the reality of "Christ in me the hope of glory", the more spiritual growth we will see, because it is He who causes us to grow, not our own self effort. The obedience God wants is not "do this and do that", it's "stop trying to do this and do that and just give it all to Me and rest in Me, watch how I will work in your life."
